As we are approaching the end of the year, if you want to celebrate your child's birthday in the cafeteria with an Icee Juicee Cup all requests need to be in by June 1st. The last day to celebrate will be June 13th. The cafeteria needs a one week notice for the birthday celebration.

As we near the end of the school year, the district is having an attendance campaign which involves everyone; students, staff and families. There is no greator indicator of success than attendance and coming to school each day is never more important than it is at this time of the year. This campaign will be data driven, focusing on students who have missed eight days or more of school, and led by the building-based teams. Our goal is to strengthen the connections with the students, show them how deeply we care about them and encourage them to finish the year "Strong".

Starting the second week of April, Lindbergh will be starting the construction project on the Single Point of Entry (SPOE). This construction project will ensure a more secure single point of entry into the building. We are looking forward to having it complete for the 2025-2026 school year.

Third Grade​

Mrs. DelBello and Mrs. Buchlis have the third graders working on a collaborative project in both art and music class on Gustav Holst's musical work titled "The Planets." The students have studied each movement of the musical work, and in art they created a galaxy background with each class working on their own planet to add to the galaxy. This project will be presented at the Spring Arts Extravaganza concert and art show on Thursday, May 29th.

We have many sweatshirts as well as two winter coats in the lost and found. Please have your child check the lost and found if they have lost any items.

The Love of Literacy Committee has planned a week of events that encourage and motivate children to read for fun. This week will be March 10-14th. This year our theme is Reading is An Adventure starring Paddington Bear. He reminds us that every time you open a book, you will embark on your own reading adventure!

Grade 3 - Recorder Classes

In 3rd grade music class the kids are working on identifying notes on the music staff as well as counting, clapping, and creating basic rhythms. One of their favorite end of class activities is playing a "guess that movie" with music clips. They are having fun playing their recorders along with the Bills Shout song to cheer our team on in the playoffs! They can play along with our special recording on the Google Classroom at home for you. GO BILLS! Don't forget to mark your calendars for the spring concert on May 29th.

Fourth Grade - Instrumental

Lesson groups and days have changed to accommodate for band and orchestra beginning on 1/22. Band and orchestra will take place during the school day every Wednesday to prepare for our spring concert on May 29th. Your child will now bring their instrument on their lesson day AND on Wednesday for ensembles. At this point all band kids should be able to play their 5-note scale and at least up to page 8 in the lesson book. Orchestra (string) students should be able to identify all strings, and play D, E F#, G, and A, Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb, and Twinkle Twinkle. They are also practicing proper bow hold, which is new to them!

Happy New Year, families! This January, we will focus on Growth Mindset—the belief that our abilities can grow with effort, learning, and perseverance. We'll help students understand that mistakes are opportunities to learn and that challenges are a natural part of the learning process.

Classroom lessons will explore how to stay motivated when things get tough, celebrate progress, and use phrases like "I can't do this yet" to reframe their thinking. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by praising effort and talking about how hard work leads to success.

December: Empathy and Kindness

Teaching emotions through play is an important way to develop empathy in children. Games and activities can help children learn the language to express and understand complex feelings. To play emotion charades, take turns acting out emotions and guessing what feeling is being portrayed.

Children choose some of their gently used toys, clothes, or books and donate them to a local charity as a way to help bring joy to others.

A DIY donation drive reinforces the idea that even small acts of kindness contribute to creating a more compassionate and caring community. By involving children in choosing, organizing, and physically donating their own items, they also gain firsthand experience in making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Starting on December 5th through December 20th, Lindbergh will be doing the 12 Days of Good Attendance. Each day a student will be selected to receive a prize or class prize if they are in attendance.

We hope this season brings joy, warmth, and cherished time with loved ones. Whether you're celebrating traditions old or new, may your holidays be filled with peace and happiness. We wish you and your family a fun filled and safe holiday season.

This month, Lindbergh students are learning valuable skills in Conflict Resolution. Through engaging activities and discussions, they are exploring how to handle disagreements respectfully and peacefully. By practicing active listening, understanding different perspectives, and learning to compromise, our students will build stronger friendships and create a more positive school environment.

Practice I-Statements at home to keep conversations respectful and solution-oriented.

Each student will be able to get a free breakfast and lunch this school year. Even though meals are free, we need all families to complete food service paperwork that will be sent home in the parent packet on the first day. Completing the form ensures individual eligibility for certain state and federal programs as well as additional school funding.

NEW THIS YEAR: Our Food Service Department remains committed to taking a stand against artificial colors. Last year, they brought in new ice cream with no artificial colors and are moving in this direction for ALL foods served or sold in our cafeterias, like chips sold as an a la carte item.
